US Representative Bill Keating addresses the BLUE Excelerator’s Second BlueTech & ClimateTech Cohort at their capstone Demo Day.
BLUE Excelerator was designed by Blue Institute Labs, PBC in 2020. The program, part of the DOE AMC, deploys at our sister nonprofit Blue Institute on Cape Cod and Newport, Rhode Island.

Our Why?
- Entrepreneurship is hard - especially in traditionally siloed BlueTech.
- BlueTech has few female and BIPOC entrepreneurs - optimal innovation requires full participation - we are working hard to create that.
- When you combine the harsh, expensive, and often dangerous working conditions in water (salt or fresh) with hardware, software, or a unique marriage of the two - the challenge is that much harder and requires greater collaboration.
- Our mission is to break down silos, educate, collaborate and to facilitate the creation of innovative solutions for clean water, climate resiliency, and healthy & secure oceans.
- At Blue Institute Labs we are mission-driven to support these climate solution startups with business development, technical support, and an "open innovation" eco-system that is second to none from academia, industry, government, and other independent innovation hubs!
- Our programming is currently through a hybrid virtual ecosystem, while we develop an ocean access location to support the needs of our partners and members for collaborative & innovative ocean access testing, training, business and technology commercialization.
- Our Team of "Silo Stormers" is dedicated to advancing inclusive and experiential engagement, to connect disparate innovators and entrepreneurs with teaming opportunities, funding, piloting, and to support innovation through collaboration.
