Our Mission & Vision
Our mission is to break down silos, educate, collaborate and to facilitate the creation of innovative solutions for clean water, climate resiliency, and healthy & secure oceans.
With our sister nonprofit Blue Institute, we sharing collaborative actions steps for creating a water access Blue Innovation Center. During covid we have attempted to replicate (as much as possible) an open innovation culture through virtual platforms. We have also been building out regional, national and global collaborative partnerships during this time of the pandemic.
The Blue Innovation Center is designed to advance Startups, commercialize technology, support research, create local jobs, and expose local students and those attending the BLUE Semester - especially females and other under-represented groups through experiential learning & internships to the myriad of opportunities in the burgeoning Blue Economy.

1) Education
Unique hands-on, cross-disciplinary, project based, soft-skills infused “Blue Semester” for exposure to water & oceans career opportunities, research applications, and community leadership needs.
2) Research
Water, Oceans & Climate Change Research led by Partner Institutions and offering research topics aligned advanced coursework for both undergraduate and graduate students.
3) Innovation
We are mission driven to find innovative solutions for clean water, climate resiliency, healthy and secure oceans through inclusive, open, collaboration. Together we are stronger, and we know the best innovation comes from bringing disparate groups together to problem solve and create.
4) Workforce & Local Economic Development
Specialized curriculum and trainings for workforce readiness and college to career. An estimated forty plus local year-round jobs will be created to support residential campus needs.
5) Public Private Partnership
Opportunity to support regional Blue Economy and Climate Initiatives, and to create partnerships with corporate, philanthropic and government organizations.
6) Environmental Impact
Opportunity to create workable solutions that positively impact the environment, as well as, creating new jobs, new products, and a new generation & network of water thought leadership
